Customer Testimonials for Drive 5280

Greg M - 2007 Subaru Outback

I don't usually hang out at car dealers, but today's outing was seeking an upgrade for my daughter.  And, if you are like me, you are looking for good places to shop - before you look for cars.  So, I look on Yelp first and pick who to do business with.   Why waste time looking for a vehicle and then find out the place is sleazy?
Drive 5280 was one of the top rated sellers, so I checked their inventory on line.

Grab some coffee and have a seat, here we go...

Web page:
I like their layout and ease of getting around in it.  It works even if you are on your phone.   Searching inventory is very easy and filtering the results is too.

The dealership:
Their location on South Kalamath is kind of a strange place to have a car lot.   But, a lot of their vehicles are kept inside a warehouse.   So, it works out OK.  When you want to drive one, they pull it out.   It is fairly small, so there appears to be 2 guys running it.

Salesman:
Buzz was working with someone when we got there, he came over and checked in real quick and then went back to the others.   This cat is pretty mellow and doesn't push anything on you.  I told him what cars I wanted to see and he got them out for us.   I would suggest letting them know you are coming down.  With 2 guys there, it's a good idea to let them know what vehicles you want to see.

Vehicles:
They have a decent stock of Subaru, Toyota, Honda and Acura brands.  I would estimate 1/3-2/3 SUV to car ratio.

When it comes to the money part, Ed the owner takes over.  He needs a name tag that says that - just for entertainment value.   I had a trade in and he gave me the higher end of the value range.  No arguing involved in any part of this transaction.  That was a nice change of pace.
I didn't finance the car, so I can't speak for the loan process.  I did notice they have a link on their web page to apply for a loan ahead of time.

This was my daughter's first experience at a car dealer.  They made her feel welcome and didn't treat her like a tag along.

Parting thoughts - if you walk into some place with an attitude, I'm pretty sure that's what you will get back.  So, your opinion of this dealership and the guys there may be different than mine.  You get what you give.   So as Filmore from the movie Cars said "Feel the love man".
Cheers y'all.

Alexis S - 2007 Acura RDX

I am 20 years old and this was my first car purchase on my own-so I was very nervous. Buzz and Ed could not have been more helpful and honest. Even with my limited credit history, they got me an amazing first time buyer rate. The car was making an intermittent noise, which made it difficult for them to determine the cause. They promised they would fix it if their mechanic could hear the noise. It took me a couple of trips, but they finally heard and fixed it right away. I am extremely happy with the car and their service.!!

Judah Kosky - 2007 Toyota Highlander

I would encourage you to read the entire story of our visit and why I would give this company 6 stars. But in summary, I have been overly shocked at Ed's honesty and integrity. We got a great vehicle at a great price. Please keep reading to get an idea of why I would recommend Drive 5280 to everyone. It is an example of how they do business and stand behind their product. We just bought a Toyota Highlander Hybrid from them. We worked with both Buzz and Ed. The experience was very straightforward and no hard salesman techniques (and I have seen quite a few techniques). We test drove the vehicle prior to buying it and it drove fantastic. However, there was a rattling noise coming from the steering column. It was driving my wife pretty crazy (and after a week of driving it, I don't blame her). We asked if they would fix it before we purchase the car. They tried, but to no avail. They told us to take it into a dealer and they will cover the costs. We took it in twice for them to figure out the cause of the noise and diagnosed a new steering column. It ended up costing quite a bit of money, and when I spoke to Ed I could tell that he wasn't expecting to pay for that much. This is where I was floored. He said, "I made a promise to you and your wife that we would fix it, and we will. I have learned a hard lesson for the future." I know that it was not a large profit opportunity for them to sell us the vehicle and do the repairs. But they valued the customer and having integrity over making money. My wife told me what I was thinking: "You don't see that very much in this day and age." And she is right. Thank you Ed.

Justin Harris - 2008 Acura RDX

I can't recommend Drive 5280 highly enough. Ed and Buzz are great to work with. No pushy sales antics or slick talk. They were very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was 100% satisfied with the car I bought. That and the 5 month warranty they offer on every vehicle means they stand behind what they sell which gives me great peace of mind. 5 stars all around!

Holly Mae - 2006 Honda CRV

As a first time "used car buyer," I have to say that Drive 5280 made the experience much better than I anticipated. I was dreading the sleazy used car dealership antics that I have heard about from so many others as well as the new car experience of haggling back and forth for hours. The folks at Drive 5280 made sure that neither of those things were experienced. After doing (too much) research online, I showed up at the shop with a spreadsheet comparing and contrasting the cars I had narrowed it down to (it was still about 15) and about a million questions for Ed. I test drove several different CR-Vs, and Ed showed me the Carfax history on each of them and explained how he chooses all his cars in stock. He went over the warranty that they offer and was even willing to look up Carfax on cars at other locations. After sleeping on it, I came back the next day to make the purchase on a 2006 CR-V with 93K miles , but before doing so, Ed let me take the car out for a few hours and even get it "dog approved" since making sure it was dog friendly was a priority of mine. The actual purchasing process only took about 30 minutes while I worked with Buzz. With the insurance money from my previous car that had been totaled I only needed to finance a small amount which Ed allowed me to do in-house at a GREAT deal. I can say that I drove away completely content with not only my purchase but my experience as well. I would, and already have, recommended using Drive 5280 for anyone looking for a used car! And of course the candy and dog treats for customers and pets was an added bonus as I tend to always trust someone who has a love for chocolate and dogs. Thanks, guys! Drive 5280 was a totally different car buying experience for me. It was fantastic! Ed & Buzz were knowledgable, friendly, respectful and accommodating. They had the car i was looking for and several others that would have met my needs. They seem to have a good system for get quality cars that have been well maintained. After an exhausting week of traditional dealerships and sales people pushing me to buy sub par vehicles at prices above what i stated i wanted to spend I went to drive 5280. I was of course skeptical but quickly learned that Ed & Buzz are not car sales men, they are good business men that happen to sell cars. Yes, there is a difference! They let me test drive the vehicle on my own, they were happy to let me take it to my mechanic for his blessing (which I did & he loved it), they were consultive not pushy or rushing to make the sale and their prices were very fair. I'm sold on Drive 5280 and intend to call them for all my future car purchases. Every car dealer I went to this past week tried to tell me how different they are from every other dealer & then proceeded to be exactly the same. Neither Ed nor Buzz tried to tell me how different or better they were, they just showed me. Give them a try, you'll be happy you did!

Eddie from Casper, WY - 2003 Honda Pilot

"Great experience, we will definitely look for our next car at Drive 5280. We drove down to Denver from Wyoming to find a family car and we were hoping to bring one home the same day. After looking all over the city at over 10 vehicles and not finding what we wanted we decided to look at Drive 5280 before calling it a day. Buzz was very helpful, not at all pushy and the car he told me about over the phone was exactly as he described. These guys are honest and they have really nice used cars and a very clean showroom. The paperwork went smoothly and although it was the end of the day on a saturday we had no problems driving out of there with the vehicle we wanted."

Sharon H from Englewood - 2006 Subaru Legacy

"The experience at Drive 5280 is very different. It is not a car dealership - no high pressure, no manipulation. I was proactively shown the CarFax report, was encouraged to take it to an independent mechanic for peace of mind and they reimbursed me for the $150 in minor maintenance that needed work. My deal was fair, including the price given my trade-in. They sell high quality cars with low to average miles. I definitely recommend them for a positive car buying experience. "

"I recently purchased a used car from Drive 5280 and it was a great experience. It is a small dealership, which I prefer. Ed Bronstein (the owner) was genuinely nice and helpful and we ended up with a car that I felt was a good value and am happy to drive. Ed drove to my husband's office to pick up documents we needed to get to him to save us the trip- very thoughtful! I would definitely recommend checking out Drive 5280 for your next car purchase".

Joe B from Boulder CO. - 2002 Saab 9-3

"I went to Drive 5280 with a specific car in mind, I worked with the owner, Ed Bronstine throughout the purchase. He was incredibly friendly and worked with me when I was in a tough spot. Ed was very knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns, ensuring that I was very comfortable with the situation. I've purchased a few cars before and from the showroom to the transaction Drive 5280 was by far the smoothest, most enjoyable purchase I've made yet."

Tony from Littleton, CO | June 6, 2014 - 2005 Lexus Es300

No-pain car purchase! recently purchased a vehicle from Drive 5280, and found the experience to be unlike most I've had when purchasing a car. Buzz and Ed were very helpful, and they back up what they say. I Wish more business were ran like this!

M.J from Loveland - 2008 Subaru Legacy

"My wife and I were looking in the private market for a used car that would get her back and forth. It was the most painful, frustrating experience we've had in a long time. Like many folks these days we thought we had to do this because we didn't feel that we would qualify for any help in being able to purchase a car due to the economy these past years. Long story short my wife came home talking about Drive 5280 and it's owner Ed Bronstein. I called the next day and worked the preliminary details with manager Buzz (who was just as positive and courteous) and received a call that afternoon from Ed telling me that he was able to secure 100% financing for us. We packed up and drove down that night to see the car Ed had aside for us. We really wanted a Subaru for safety all year round and he had one there that was not only perfect for my wife but with only 50K miles on it... Ed and staff at Drive 5280 were true blue from the start and the car and experience has been every bit what we were sold. They have my loyalty and our gratitude from here on out"

By Jennifer D from Windsor CO - 2004 Chevy Avalanche

"We recently purchased a used vehicle from Drive 5280. We had a very positive purchasing experience with Ed Bronstein. He was easy to work with and very patience with us through the process (which took several days since we were not ready to buy when we first test drove). We definitely recommend buying a vehicle from Drive 5280 and will return when we need another"

Matt from Denver - 2003 Saab 9-3

"We shopped for a car at many dealers and working with 5280 was amazing! Both the owner, Ed, and his employee Buzz were very friendly and didn't put high pressure on us. They listened to our needs and worked with us. They have a very nice selection of high quality cars. I have already spread the word to my friends to utilize their services and will definitely look to them in the future. Having a daughter as a first time buyer, this was a great experience and she got a beautiful car at a fair price".

By Russell R from Denver CO - 2009 Scion XD

"Purchased an 09 Toyota Scion. Car was priced well and in excellent condition. Dealer looks to sell only high quality cars which should be appreciated by anyone who has ever bought a lemon"

by Kelly B from Boulder, CO - 2004 VW Bug Convertible

"I was shopping for a 'new to me' car and was referred to Drive 5280. The owner, Ed Bronstine, was extremely knowledgeable about the current market and his selection of vehicles was fantastic. He went above and beyond what I would have expected from a pre-owned dealership. I purchased the car that was perfect for me and couldn't be more thrilled! I will absolutely refer Drive 5280 to every person that I know!"
